About Amit

Amit Deshpande
If you are not coming to this site for the first time, you know where you are and who Amit is (and obviously, who you are ; -) ).
For others, here goes...
Amit is currently located at Bangalore (aka the Silicon Alley of India) and steers design and discussion at McAfee. Prior to McAfee, Amit worked at Sapient as a Creative Design Associate and at Omniquad as an User Experience Architect. He spends free time playing around with colors, design and futuristic concepts. His passion for design and the urge to do the unconventional has brought him this far.
In addition to art, a Masters in Computer Applications degree had given him that special edge in programming as well. He collaborates with online design and UX enthusiasts at http://www.surfunion.com and http://www.uxnet.org (as a Local Ambassador) and serves on the Editorial Board of User Experience magazine, published four times an year with the Usability Professionals Association.
He was recently nominated for the Florence Biennial, and is looking for sponsoring individuals and institutions for facilitating the representation of his artwork at the Fortrezza De Basso at Italy.

About the site

The long wait for version 5 of this site is over. This version was an outcome of an urge to come up with a minimalistic design. Hence, the name - Minima.
The Inverse Silhouettes used for page banners were created in Photoshop (with tons of inspiration from stock exchange), the code is XHTML 1.0 Transitional purely hand-coded using Dreamweaver and Homesite. The typeface used for the Minima brand on the homepage is Minima SSK. Good ol' ASP is used in some places, and gallons of caffiene helped push this one out of the garage.
This version of the site is packed with much more than before. Hope you like the treat! Enjoy your stay, and come back for more!
